Fire and Rescue Services Department is entrusted with the task of fire fighting and rescue operations in times of emergency. “We Serve to Save” is the lofty objective of the department and every one of the personnel in the department has the onerous task of saving the people in distress. It is the endeavor of the department to ensure that the delivery of services to the public reaches with least delay.
Every State Fire and Rescue Services Department headed by a Director in the rank of Addl Director General of Police has a strength of nearly 7000 personnel and operates through more than 300 Fire and Rescue Services Stations including 2 Rescue Stations located in all the districts . The main task of the fire fighters is to save and protect life and properties of the people in any calamity either natural or man-made. It needs physical strength and sensitivity.
We alone cannot serve people if people don’t take preventive measures. We appeal to industrialists, owners and occupants of multi-storied buildings, commercial complexes, educational institutions, cracker manufacturers etc. to follow the fire safety norms to ensure safer society.
